Chief Nikki shares with us her experience at Bahamas Carnival!
What country do you represent?
Trini/Haiti
Where are you based?
DMV baby!
What you know about this Soka Tribe life? 😉 (i.e. what is your affiliation, how long, how did it start)
Izza chief! Been rocking with ST for almost two years now.
What brought you to this particular carnival?
I always try to travel around this time of year and noticed that the Bahamas has a 2nd carnival season in May. This is a fairly new tradition ~10 years so it's relatively affordable when it comes to Caribbean carnivals, especially for one planned last minute. The beautiful beaches of the Bahamas didn't hurt either.
Have you played mas before? When and where?
Yes! Caribana, Trini, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, and Brooklyn back in the day.
What carnivals would you rinse and repeat?
The Mecca 🇹🇹, of course!
What do you wish you knew about this carnival before going?
Just how small this small island carnival is, (for now).
What would you say makes this carnival different from others?
The carnival route travels along the coast, giving you gorgeous views of the crystal clear sandy beaches and a place to dip your feet at the end of the day.
Soca Artist that you would want to fete with?
Pumpa
Anything else the Soka Tribe should know about you?
I think you get plenty of me already. LOL
